The acquisition agreement between JPay and Securus was in the form of a stock purchase. It has helped Securus in its service delivery sections of email, inmate tablets, and payments. Their services to correctional agencies are now fully encompassed on all detainees’ needs. JPay is now a fully owned subsidiary of Securus Technologies. He then proceeded for his MBA at the University of Rochester and a Master’s in engineering at the State University of New York. Before joining Securus Technologies, Smith had worked at Eschelon Telecom Incorporation as the Chief Operations Officer and President. He had joined Eschelon in August 2003 as its CEO and President. Additionally, Smith served at Global Crossing North America as from 1972 to October 1992. He is also a member of the board at Integra Telecom Co Ltd.
